Spotlight: the macula

I love architecture. I love art history, both contemporary work and ancient works. When I found this, I was just enamored with what the macula project had done in this chapel!

I hope everyone had a great Tuesday and I hope you enjoy the video as much as I did!

Archifon is a big interactive virtual musical instrument originally made for the Olomouc Baroque de-baptized chapel. Architectonical objects are re-interpreted by virtual visual elements via projection and sound. It is possible by mapping the virtual surface on the chapel’s interior.

Up to ten visitors at a time can interact with the Archifon through the laser pointers. By pointing on any of more than 100 elements different audiovisual actions are initiated.

Spotlight: Deposit a Gift

One of the many items on everyone’s wedding to-do list/agenda is to assemble the wedding registry at one or several of your favorite stores. When my husband and I got married, we discussed asking for monetary gifts; however, coming from families that were both very traditional, we struggled with exactly how to go about asking our family and friends for monetary gifts. In the end, we decided against the idea because we were uncomfortable with receiving only checks and cash. We also felt that our family and friends would like to know exactly what they were helping us do or purchase for our new life together.

While searching for a topic for today’s post, I came across the Deposit a Gift Registry in a blog post by Style Me Pretty. After reading the article, I thought… ‘this has got to be too good to be true’, so of course I had to check it out myself. I learned that not only can the website be used as a wedding registry, but you can do almost any type of registry under the sun at Deposit a Gift. Here are some of the sample registries provided on their website:

What I found really helpful was the ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ section. It addresses literally every single question or concern you could have about doing your registry through their website. Some of the great features about Deposit a Gift, include, free access, registration, multiple cash-out options, and no cash-out fees. However, the only drawback, and realistically it is not that bad, is the 7.5% service fee of the total gift purchase, which can either be covered by the gift recipient or the gift giver (you decide which option to pick when you set up the registry website).

If any one else has used Deposit a Gift, I would love to hear your feedback because it will definitely be on my list of tools to use for future events!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Saturday!
